London Fashion Showcase

Around the corner from Store Studio where LFW takes place this year. Gibraltar’s House premier’s its first fashion event. The first time ever for a government embassy to host a fashion showcase.

Strictly invitation only an array of press, buyers, influencers and VIP’s attended the event. Arriving at Gibraltar one is greeted with champagne. Stepping into the elevator one ascends to the 4th floor.

4 emerging designers display not only their latest collection on racks, each has a description about their work, a model installation and are there themselves to discuss.

When the elevator doors open you are greeted with a dimly lit room and a blue glow. Following the markings on the floor you turn the corner to see designs of predominately white and metallic grey. Maria uses clear materials to create patters.

Following the white petals one descends to the stairs, Stalla’s room is rich with red and a circus theme. This collection has strong patters. The model is lounging in the centre on a chair and foot stool is in large chunky black heels and a long flowing dress. Many of the designs in this collection have bold black shape within the print that pop out amounts the colourful patter.

Stepping through into the next room Elelcie, Rajvi Lodhia has her design’s point and centre; the main attraction. They speak for themselves and are so full of life that a model isn’t needed. An array of variety, from peach and pastel tones to bold golds and sequins.

Heading down to the final designer Gail Howard. Placed in the most luxurious room and using two models to showcase the designs. From feathers to large shoulder’s and stunning gowns. This designers collection has something for every occasion. With plunging necklines and cut outs at the hips this designer has a fresh and elegant vision.
